Maps

Below are some maps showing departure routes and a variety of noise metrics.  We shall be adding to these as more become available.

NPR/SID Routes

This map shows the Gatwick main arrival and departure routes and where they are geographically.

Typical Radar Tracks

This map shows the typical actual tracks flown by aircraft during 2019.  Arrivals are in red and departures are in blue

2019 Summer Day Departures

This map shows the percentage distribution of departures for 2019 during the day, divided amongst the routes

2019 Summer Night Departures

This map shows the percentage distribution of departures for 2019 during the night, divided amongst the routes

2019 Summer Day Actual Noise Contours

This map shows the geographical distribution of noise around the airport during the day.  Note LEQ is NOT the maximum noise of an individual aircraft movement (this is LMax) but an average of all noise over a 12 hour period. This noise metric is questionable as to its validity but is currently used in the UK by Government and the aircraft industry.

2019 Summer Night Actual Noise Contours
